Government Engagement

Direct Engagement and Preparation

Thurlow Law engages with parliamentarians and senior civil servants at federal departments and agencies. Our team completes each assignment according to the expertise and labour required to present public officials with compelling, evidence-based arguments. We also offer extensive preparation to our clients in advance of key meetings with government.

Every year, organizations waste untold hours – and dollars – on ineffective government relations based on an incomplete understanding of the inner workings of Canadian government. We ensure that our clients see maximum effectiveness for their time and money.

Parliamentary Engagement

Thurlow Law consultants have appeared before a multitude of House of Commons and Senate Committees on behalf of our clients. We have the know-how to make a compelling presentation and provide thorough responses to parliamentarians’ questions. We also train clients on the nuances of appearing before specific committees prior to their appearances.

Further, we monitor the Hill every day that it is in session. Clients can elect to receive updates as topics of interest to them are discussed at the committee level.

Tactical Developments

What strategic plan does your organization have to represent its interests in Ottawa and provincial capitals? What key objectives should be reached in the near, intermediate and long term? How must your plans change in reaction to shifting political environments?

Thurlow Law creates detailed and achievable plans for our clients, and updates them as circumstances change. We also offer clients continuous monitoring of the machinery of government – from the House of Commons to the Senate to the Canada Gazette and beyond.

Change is the only constant in politics, and we pride ourselves on our agility and responsiveness to new developments. Our clients have confidence that they are operating on the most up-to-date information possible – and can count on our strategic advice at any time.
